Diatech Make for AI assistants

Diatech Make is parametric jewelry CAD. Its MCP server lets an AI assistant design rings, pendants and earrings for you: it writes a design, checks it, renders it and measures it, then shows you the result.

At a glance

  • Server address: https://make.diatech.ai/mcp
  • Sign-in: OAuth with your Diatech account; no API key to copy.
  • Access: any Diatech account with access to Diatech Make. Each person signs in as themselves.
  • What it touches: only the design text the assistant sends. It cannot read or change your files, your saved designs or your account.

What you can ask for

  • New designs from a brief: "A size 6.5 platinum solitaire with a 1 ct round in four prongs".
  • Pictures and numbers: shaded views from several angles, the real size, metal weight and a stone list.
  • Checks: whether stones clear the metal, and design rules such as minimum wall thickness and stone spacing.
  • Changes to an existing design: resizing, swapping stones, turning fixed numbers into adjustable inputs, and proving a change left the rest of the piece as it was.
  • Starting points: a library of worked examples and templates to adapt.

The designs it produces are the same .ds files the editor opens, so you can take any of them into Diatech Make to refine, export or send to casting.

Connecting

Claude

Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Paste https://make.diatech.ai/mcp, then choose Connect and sign in with your Diatech account.

ChatGPT and other assistants

Add a new MCP server or connector wherever your assistant lists them, using the same address. The server speaks MCP over Streamable HTTP and signs you in with OAuth.

Once connected, just describe the piece you want. The assistant decides which tools to call.

Tools

Every tool works on design text the assistant sends, on the bundled examples, or on designs you have published. None deletes or overwrites anything (publishing keeps every earlier version), and none contacts services outside Diatech.

Reading and checking (read-only)

  • Read DiaScript Docs: the design language reference.
  • Browse Compiler Catalog: the stone cuts, settings, profiles and options available.
  • Search Example Designs: find worked examples, templates, and designs your organization has marked as examples. Example access is organization-only; sharing links work as usual.
  • Validate Design: check a design for mistakes in milliseconds.
  • Migrate Old Design: update an older design to the current spelling.
  • Compare Two Designs: confirm two versions build the same piece.

Building and rendering

These build geometry on our servers, which uses your account's compile capacity and may keep a preview image for up to 24 hours.

  • Render Design: shaded pictures plus real size, metal weight and stones.
  • Check Stone Fit: whether placed stones intersect the metal or each other.
  • Get Example Design: an example's source with a preview picture.
  • Set Up Local Renderer: for assistants that can run commands on your computer: a short-lived credential for faster previews there.

Publishing

These keep a design on our servers, with every version, until you delete it.

  • Publish Design: stores the design, or a new version of one you published, and returns its links: a Review page for the people you share it with, and a Showcase page anyone with the link can view or embed unless you restrict it.
  • Read Published Design: a published design's latest text and its history, or the designs you can open.

Security and data

  • Authentication. Sign-in is OAuth against your Diatech account. The assistant receives a token, never your password, and you can disconnect at any time from the assistant's connector settings.
  • Only what you publish is kept. A design you publish is kept on our servers, with every version, until you delete it, and its Showcase can be opened by anyone with its link unless you restrict it. Everything else is compiled when a tool is called; compiled geometry and preview images sit in temporary caches that clear themselves, most within a day.
  • Your designs are yours. We don't use them to train models, and we only look at one when you send it to support.
  • Your assistant is a separate service. What it does with your conversation is governed by its provider's terms.

Full details are in the Privacy Policy and the Terms of Service.

Limits

  • Weights, sizes and fit checks are computed from the geometry but are estimates. Check every design before it goes to casting.
  • Each account has a limited number of builds running at once. A busy account is asked to retry rather than queued indefinitely.
