Ring design software for engagement rings, bands and everything between

Design engagement rings, eternity bands, wedding bands and signet rings in your browser. Start with a size and a stone, shape the shank, set the stones, and send a file to your caster or printer the same day.

Start with the size, not a guess

Ring size is a single setting on the design. Enter it in US, EU, UK, Australian, Japanese or Hong Kong sizing, or as an inner circumference, and Diatech Make turns it into exact millimeters. Change it later and the shank, the settings and every stone move with it. When a customer wants the same ring in three sizes, export a size run with one file per finger size.

Shanks and band profiles

  • Sized bands and cathedral shanks to start from, or sweep your own profile along a ring rail.
  • 18 band profiles including comfort fit, court, D-shape, knife edge, pillow, concave, beveled and half-round.
  • Multi-rail sweeps, so a shank can taper toward the back, pinch under the head or change its section as it goes around.
  • Bend, twist and taper for split shanks, bypass rings and organic bands.

Engagement ring settings

Pick a center stone from the gem library (round, oval, cushion, emerald, pear, marquise, radiant and the rest) and choose how to hold it:

  • a head or basket with four, six or any number of prongs, and the tip style you like
  • a full, half or tube bezel that follows the stone's outline
  • a flush (gypsy) setting, the stone sunk into the metal by its girdle
  • a halo or double halo that traces the center stone's real shape
  • a hidden halo under the girdle
  • shared-prong, bead or micro-pavé down the shoulders

Because every setting is built on the stone's measured girdle, an oval head actually fits an oval and a pear gets a prong on its point. Read more about pavé and stone setting.

Eternity and wedding bands

Lay a row of stones all the way around the band, in a channel, with shared prongs or in a bead setting, and space them center to center or by an exact gap between edges. For graduated bands, taper the stones from front to back and every table stays at the same height.

Engraving and finishing

  • Inside inscriptions that wrap all the way around the band, in any font.
  • Patterns, text or artwork embossed or engraved around the outside.
  • Milgrain along any edge and graver grooves along any path.

Check it before it goes to the caster

Diatech Make reports metal weight for the alloy you pick, the stone list with carat weights, and the thinnest wall on the ring along with where it is. Set a minimum and the design stops you before you export something too thin to cast. The bench tech sheet has a gem map and dimensioned views. See 3D printing and casting for the export side.

Already designing rings in another program?

Diatech Make opens Rhino and JewelCAD files as editable models. See switching from JewelCAD or Rhino. You can also ask an AI assistant to draft a ring from a written brief and then refine it yourself.
