Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 26, 2026

Diatech Make is jewelry CAD that runs in your browser, operated by Diatech AI ("Diatech", "we", "us"). This policy covers the editor, its compile servers, the MCP endpoint for AI assistants and the @diatechai/cad command-line tool. Your Diatech account itself is covered by the Diatech Studio Privacy Policy, which also applies where this page is silent.

The short version

  • Your designs live with you, unless you publish them. Saved designs go to files on your own computer or to your browser's storage. A design you publish is kept on our servers, with every version, until you delete it.
  • Everything else, we compute and forget. Your design is sent to our servers to build its geometry. Uploads and compiled results sit in temporary caches that clear themselves.
  • No training, no selling, no browsing. Your designs are never used to train AI models, never sold or shared, and our team does not look at them unless you send one to us.
  • We measure use, not designs. Our servers record what you do (build, export, import, sign in), when and how much, so we can plan capacity and stop abuse. Those records never contain your designs.
  • No ad or analytics trackers run in the editor.

Information we collect

Your account

You sign in to Diatech Make with your Diatech account. When you do, we receive from it your name, email address, account and organization identifiers, and whether your subscription is active. We use these to let you in, to keep your account to one browser at a time, and to show you who you are signed in as. Sign-in tokens are held on our servers, never in your browser's cookies.

Your designs and uploads

  • Design source. Each time the editor builds your design, the design text and the options you chose are sent to our compile servers. The resulting geometry is cached so an unchanged part does not have to be rebuilt. These caches are keyed by a fingerprint of the design content, not by your name or account, and entries expire on their own.
  • Published designs. When you publish a design, we keep its text and every earlier version on our servers until you delete the design, with its name, the look you saved and the email addresses of the people you share it with. Its Showcase page can be viewed, and embedded on other sites, by anyone with its link unless you restrict it; a Showcase builds the design in the viewer's browser without sending them its text.
  • Uploaded files. Meshes, images and imported files (Rhino, JewelCAD, design packages) are kept in your browser. Our servers hold a temporary copy while you work and delete it automatically once it goes unused, typically within 24 hours. If it is needed again, the editor simply uploads it again.
  • Tracing images. Turning a picture into curves happens entirely in your browser; the image is only uploaded when you choose a relief, which needs it on the server.

Stored in your browser

The editor uses your browser's storage for your recent designs, an autosave of unsaved work, your preferences, cached geometry that makes reopening a design fast, and a random device identifier that tells your browsers apart for the one-seat rule. It stays on your device, and clearing this site's data in your browser removes it.

Pricing

When the Report panel prices a design, we look up each stone (type, cut, size and grades) in your organization's price book in Diatech Studio, using your own sign-in. Metal is priced from a public spot-price feed, which receives only the metal being asked about and nothing about you or the design.

AI assistants and the command-line tool

If you connect an AI assistant to Diatech Make over MCP, or use the command-line tool, the design text it sends is compiled exactly as the editor's is. A preview image it asks for is kept for up to 24 hours at an address only that request can produce. The assistant you use is a separate service: what it does with your conversation is governed by its provider's own terms.

Usage records

Each time you use a part of Diatech Make that runs on our servers (building a design, exporting, importing or uploading a file, an AI assistant's tool call, the command-line tool, signing in), we record:

  • your account identifier and email address;
  • what you used (for example "export" or "build", or the name of the assistant's tool) and whether it succeeded;
  • when, how long it took, and how much data it sent and received;
  • whether it came from the editor, the command-line tool, an AI assistant or a view of a design you published (recorded under your account, without the viewer's address or user-agent);
  • your IP address and your browser's or tool's user-agent string.

These records never contain your designs, their text, their geometry or the names of your files. We use them to see how the service is used and plan its capacity, to enforce fair use and the one-seat rule, and to detect and stop abuse such as shared accounts, scraping or attacks. Only a small number of Diatech administrators can see them. They are kept for 90 days and then deleted automatically.

Operational logs

Like any web service, our servers keep request logs (time, address, the page or endpoint, how long it took and whether it failed) and error reports. We use them to keep the service running, to stop abuse and to fix bugs. They do not contain your designs.

Cookies

Diatech Make sets only the cookies it needs to work: one that keeps you signed in and one that protects form submissions from forgery. There are no analytics, advertising or third-party cookies in the editor.

Your designs are yours

  • Ownership. You keep every right to the designs you create and the files you export. We claim none.
  • No AI training. Your designs, uploads and prompts are never used to train or improve any AI model, ours or anyone else's.
  • No sharing. We do not sell, share or disclose your designs to other users, partners or competitors; a design you publish reaches only the people and links you choose.
  • No browsing. Our team does not open customer designs. We only see one when you send it to us, for example to get help with it.

How we use information

  • To run the service: sign you in, build your geometry, export and price your designs.
  • To keep it healthy: capacity planning, security, and diagnosing failures.
  • To understand how the service is used and to detect abuse, from the usage records described above.
  • To support you when you get in touch.
  • To tell you about changes to the service that affect you.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers that host and run Diatech Make for us, under confidentiality obligations and only as far as needed to provide the service; Diatech Studio, for your account, subscription and price book; and authorities, where the law requires it. We tell you first unless we are legally prevented from doing so.

Retention and deletion

  • Designs you save are in your own files and browser; delete them there and they are gone. A design you publish is kept, with every version, until you delete it. Our temporary caches clear themselves, most within a day.
  • Account data is kept while your Diatech account is active and deleted as the Diatech Studio policy describes when you close it.
  • Usage records are deleted automatically after 90 days.
  • Logs are kept only as long as they are useful for operations and security.

To delete your account or ask what we hold about you, write to support@diatech.ai. We answer within 30 days.

Security

All traffic is encrypted in transit. Your session is bound to one browser, sign-in tokens never reach it, and the servers read uploaded files only from their own confined space. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep yours that way.

Children

Diatech Make is a professional tool for people 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the product changes. We will post the new version here with a new date, and let you know directly about any change that materially affects how we treat your data.
