A JewelCAD and Rhino alternative that keeps your old files
Thinking about leaving JewelCAD, Rhino, MatrixGold or RhinoGold? Diatech Make opens the files you already have as editable models, uses tool names you'll recognize, and runs in a browser, so there is nothing to install.
Bring your files with you
- JewelCAD (
.jcd). Surfaces are rebuilt as revolves, sweeps and multi-rail forms. Duplicate parts become one reusable part, and parts repeated around the ring become a single rotational pattern. - Rhino (
.3dm). Curves, extrusions, revolves, spheres, cylinders, cones and tori come back as geometry you can edit. Blocks become reusable parts and mirrored copies become mirrors. - STEP, BREP, STL and GLB. These come in as parts of your design, and named sub-parts stay separately selectable.
An imported piece doesn't get locked into a single mesh. Change the ring size or swap a stone and it rebuilds.
Every familiar tool, where you would look for it
Most JewelCAD and Rhino tools have a direct match on the Diatech Make ribbon.

What you get by switching
- Settings that fit the stone. Prongs, bezels, halos and pavé are built on each cut's measured girdle.
- Pavé you paint on. Brush it onto any surface, sculpts and scans included, and it fills with melee sizes you can buy.
- Designs stay editable. Every edit is saved as readable DiaScript, so you can compare versions and change a piece years later.
- Paperwork that matches the model. Metal weight, the stone list and the bench tech sheet come from the same geometry you export.
- AI help when you want it. Claude or ChatGPT can work on the same file you do.
- Nothing to install. It opens in a browser on any computer, with no dongle or license server.
Try it with a file you already have
Diatech Make is free to try. Open the editor, choose File → Import and drop in
